Zoutelande is a village and seaside resort in the municipality of Veere, located between Dishoek and Westkapelle. Zoutelande is also called the 'Zeeuwse Riviera', after the famous southern French coast. This is because there are only a few other Dutch south-facing beaches.

Originally, Zoutelande was a farming village, agriculture, and related activities were the most important economic activities. This character gradually but surely changed due to the increasing demand for beach recreation since about the middle of the 19th century.
