This beautiful holiday home consists of an old and a new part that together form a harmonious whole. The existing, old part was built in 1934 by the well-known Amsterdam architect Ben Merkelbach. Merkelbach was city architect of Amsterdam and he built this house as a summer home for the then mayor of Middelburg. The old house has largely remained in its original state and can safely be classified as cultural historical heritage. It is known as one of the first holiday homes in Oostkapelle. Special is the light in the living room of the old part and the dividing wall between this room and the old (still original) kitchen, of which cupboards and drawers can be operated entirely from two sides. Also on the ground floor is a toilet and a former maid's room that now serves as a laundry room. On the first floor of the old part there are 4 bedrooms (1 x 2-person and 3 x 1-person) and a narrow bathroom with shower and second toilet.

In 2022, the existing house was expanded with a new part, respecting the original construction and colours. The new part, which is connected to the existing part via the old kitchen, consists of a large, bright room containing a modern kitchen, a large dining table and an attractive sitting area near the built-in bookcase and the wood-burning stove. There is also a fifth bedroom (2-person) in the new part, as well as a second comfortable bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. There is also a separate third toilet.

The location of the house is very special. The house is completely detached in a very quiet area and is surrounded by a spacious lawn that is completely fenced. Forest, dunes and beach are a few minutes away on foot.
